“Before the injury the plan was really get into the final and then see what happens, go with the race try to win a medal if possible”. Hilton said

“Since I got the injury now it’s just have a bit of fun. If I make the final great, if I don’t, I’ve had a bit of an injury I can’t really do much about it”.

Damon Lanfear will provide another hope for success in the 3000m metres.

Lanfear will join his vice-captain on the start line of that event and unlike his teammate the athlete is currently injury free. However, Lanfear is a little apprehensive and has admitted that he is feeling the pressure before the big event.

really good, so I’m just gonna go out there and race my own race and relax”.

Elsewhere, Kane Lee will be running the 800 metres up north. Lee has changed his approach going into the championships and is hopeful that this change will have brought him success by the time he returns to the South Coast.

“I’ve been training well, I mean I’ve ran a couple good 400s already but I’ll just have to see where my endurance takes me for the 800. Yeah I’m looking forward to it”.
