Callum Hudson-Odoi set to miss rest of the season due to injury
Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered an injury in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Burnley which is likely to keep him out for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old was forced off on 40 minutes after rupturing his achilles tendon.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has had an impressive debut campaign as a regular first-team member, making 25 appearances across all major competitions for the Blues this season.
The England international took to social media after the match against Burnley and said: “Really gutted to end my season with a ruptured Achilles, gotta work hard and try and come back stronger for next season!”
The youngster has been particularly impressive in the Europa League this season for Chelsea, contributing to six goals in nine games.
The Blues will have to do without him for their semi-final fixtures against Frankfurt which will be played within the next couple of weeks.
Callum Hudson-Odoi made his England debut earlier this campaign against the Czech Republic back in March. The young winger is a doubt for England’s semi-final in the Nations League against the Netherlands on the 6th June.
There has been much speculation about the Englishman’s future at the club due to a lack of trust from head coach Maurizio Sarri.
But after the match he had positive words about Hudson-Odoi saying: “I expect him to stay next season.”
