Eastleigh move to just two points from the play-offs

Non-league Eastleigh FC are optimistic ahead of their play-off challenge. Eastleigh beat Bromley away 1-0 and are now two points off from the play-offs.

Manager Ben Strevens is taking each day as it comes and is focusing on the game ahead and taking it week by week rather than looking at the bigger picture to keep his team more focused.

“We are worrying about Aldershot first. I know it’s a cliché but theres a belief in the group that we can do this.”

Their next opponent is 22nd placed Aldershot Town who are in a relegation dog fight of their own. Whilst Eastleigh are expected to win but with both teams having it all to play for it won’t be an easy task.

Eastleigh currently sit 9th in the league but have a game in hand over 7th placed Gateshead.

Captain and midfielder Danny Holland is confident that Eastleigh can secure a play-off position.

“In my opinion we are as good as any team on paper and we have shown that we are this season we have some tough opponents coming up but hopefully we can continue the way we are.”

With a must win game against Aldershot fighting to stay in the league, spirits are high at Eastleigh and they are confident that they can go on and secure a play-off position.
