Liverpool Concede Four Set Pieces Despite Dramatic Comeback

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was not happy as his side conceded four times from set pieces in their 5-4 victory over Norwich City.

The Reds came from 3-1 down to win 5-4 at Carrow Road, which saw them rise up to seventh in the table.

Despite the dramatic scenes after Adam Lallana’s late winner, Klopp was not pleased at how his team defended.

“It’s unbelievable that we gave away four goals from set plays.

“In the end we win 5-4 and it’s a funny story but it is not that funny, we have to solve it.

“Today it’s okay because we scored five but everybody knows we can’t always do that.”

The score was 4-4 with just three minutes remaining, before Lallana netted in the 95th minute to seal the win for Liverpool.

Klopp pointed out similarities to their loss last week against Manchester United, and suggested that their opponents today deserved more from the match.

Reflecting on the dramatic late goal, Klopp confessed that a draw would have been a fairer result.

“Of course we can be happy with the three points, but a draw would have been deserved for both teams.

“We needed the last moments to get it back, but a few days ago we lost a game we shouldn’t have so it’s nice to take something back.

“Until now my heart was very stress resistant, I’ve had a few similar games in my life with not so happy endings but 5-4 doesn’t happen that often.”

Liverpool’s win saw them move closer to the top six, with the Reds travelling to Stoke in three days time.

Even though there is a short period between games, Klopp stressed that they need to correct their mistakes as soon as possible.

“I’m not happy with the situation, for sure.

“Hopefully the two days before the Stoke game are enough for us to change things.”
