Sholing F.C are just one win away from reaching Wembley in the FA Vase.
Sholing F.C are one game away of reaching Wembley if they beat Eastbourne United. This is the first time in the club’s history that they reach this stage in the FA Vase.
A great run from Sholing this season, as they are closer to the important Wembley final.
The club will benefit from a financial boost if they win the FA Vase, which in Dave Diaper’s opinion, who is the club chairman and manager, will allow them to sustain a good level of football.
“[The extra funding] It’s really to make sure we can sustain this level of football, because that’s what it is about.
“To find a level that we can play for the next two or three years, rather than going up and down a pyramid. If you go up one season and then go down the next one, it’s not really good for the club.
“[About attracting new fans to the club] Hopefully we will, because if we don’t get more people through the gate now, we never will.
“It’s all about the club profile, the club is everything and no person is bigger than it. It’s part of the community.”
Sholing’s fans are really pleased with the team’s performance. Their run in the league allowed them to be in contention for promotion and reaching this stage of the FA Vase just makes the season even better.
“You can’t get much better, going for promotion and going for the FA Vase. It’s a fantastic atmosphere, a club like this has never done something like it before, it’s just brilliant.
“It’s really buzzing at the moment, there’s so much potential.
“The next week is going to be crucial for the club, we’ve got the home and away leg of the Vase, but midweek we also have a league cup tie, which means that next week we can be in two finals.”
