The National Basketball Association season has nearly reached its climax. Unlike the premier league, the NBA uses the best eight teams from the West and the best eight from the teams in the East to fight it out and ultimately claim the championship. The first round of the playoffs will start from Saturday the 13th of April.

The first round see’s some big teams meet, especially when the Golden State Warriors will face Oklahoma Thunder to repeat the playoff finals back in 2016 where Golden State were victorious. Golden state are the bookies favourites and were first to qualify from the Western Conference with thunder coming through late on with help from there MVP nominee Russell west-brook with a league high of  30 triple doubles. He will match up against the infamous Steph Curry, the loveable three point specialist is up with the best in all scoring aspects of the game this season, being 2nd in three pointers, 3rd in points scored and 5th in three point percentage.  The warriors will be looking to retain the championship while Oklahoma will be trying to win it for the first time.

Other first round matches will see the Houston Rockets take on Utah Jazz, the Clippers vs Portland, Nuggets vs Spurs, Bucks vs Heat, Celtics vs Pacers, 76ers vs Pistons and Raptors vs Brooklyn Nets.

You may be wondering why you cannot see anything about the “goat” LeBron James and the LA Lakers but they failed to qualify so LeBron will be missing out on playoffs for the first time since 2010.
