Footballers should be “actively encouraged” to pursue career outside of football claims Wycombe winger Wheeler
Wycombe Wanderers winger David Wheeler has had his say on footballing education after he recently completed his post-graduate degree whilst still actively playing full-time football in the English Football League.
Wheeler – age 31 – has always had one eye on his career outside of football since a young age and has now spoken about its importance in modern day football.
Wheeler smiled before saying:
“Yeah, I think definitely should be a prerequisite for any academy up to the age of 23.”
“I think like it should be actively encouraged to be pursuing interests because a lot of players will leave the training grounds and go and play video games or whatever.”
